The same folks who bring you the Central Valley’s biggest and best haunted attraction now partner with iHeartMedia Bakersfield to bring you the (2nd annual) Halloween Town Zombie Run! In the same spectacular manner they provide top level Halloween entertainment, Talladega Frights has designed a fearsome course where infected Zombies chase (creeping and leaping) after innocent Human runners for an obstacle mud run on a trail going over, around, and through Halloween Town in Bakersfield, Calif. Like other Zombie runs, participants will encounter manmade and natural obstacles (including mud) and must make challenging choices whether to take more difficult (but safer) routes or take easy routes and risk encountering…ZOMBIES!
To add to the fun, the Halloween Town River Run is just ONE WEEK before Halloween!
Zombies are infected and hungry, and they need brains, intestines, and hearts. These vital organs are represented by flags each Human must wear. Zombies (also paying participants) try to remove the flags and render those runners infected and …. dead. Humans able to cross the finish line wearing at least ONE flag are considered ALIVE and will be treated to hearty applause and a year of righteous gloating.
All participants, whether Human or Zombie, receive an event t-shirt.

What’s the difference? The price is the same. Serious runners or participants merely wanting to test their survival skills may sign-up as a Human and run the obstacle course to the end. Running Humans receive a bib, safety pins, and a set of flags, and can wear any type of sports clothing that makes them comfortable. The three flags are worn around the waist and down the right side of the body, the left side, and the rear side and should be fully visible at all times. The cost is the same to be a Zombie, but here’s what’s involved: Zombies must arrive to the event wearing old, tattered clothing (considered costumes) and be willing to behave like the brain hungry, crazed undead (Creepers or Leapers), going after our Human runners in an attempt to remove any of their flags. The top rate Talladega Frights makeup team will be on hand to “zombify” any participant who wants it, but all Zombies are welcome to participate with their own makeup (we know many of you are already expert Zombies!).

Time: First wave is released at 8:00 AM and every 30 minutes after until all runners are on course. Participants (Humans and Zombies) must arrived between 6:30-7:00 AM for check-in.
Cost: Tiered pricing depending on date purchased: $45 Zombies, $45 Humans (if purchased prior to Oct. 1st); $50 each until day of event. $55 per person at the gate. *Discounts offered for teams, military, and junior runners.
