Hart Park After Dark
The County of Kern presents the First Annual “Hart Park After Dark” — on Sat. October 21st @ 5-8pm, in Section 7 of Hart Memorial Park in Bakersfield. This is a FREE family-fun event.
Activities will include:
-Star Gazing @ 7:15pm with Kern County Astronomical Society
-The PopUp Library Presents Spooky Stories for Families @ 5:30pm, and Scary Stories for Young Adults @ 7:30pm
-Camo-Face Painting & Pull Up Bar with Kern County Veterans Services
-Rock Painting with the Kern County Department of Human Services
-Live Music with DJ: The Phantom Stranger, and Band: Heavy Vinyl
-Photo Opportunities with Roaming Reptiles, Omnipresent Puppet Theatre, Magician Christopher Lopez, & Kern County Fire Trucks
-Bookmark & Spider Hat Crafts with the Kern County Library
-Shooting for the Stars: Photo Booth with Props & Corn Hole, with Kern County Human Resources
-FREE drawing for prizes, books, & more!
-& Food Vendors including cotton candy, Brazilian Hot Dog, & La Rosa
ALSO:
-Bike Ride with Bike Bakersfield
Bike Riders meet at 6:30pm.
Take a bike ride, starting in Section 7, at the Hart Park After Dark event, to CALM.
Riders MUST have their own gear: bike, head light, tail light or rear reflector, and if you are under 18, a helmet.
AND:
-Night Hike with the Kern County Library
Hikers meet at 6pm.
Meet at Section 7 at the Hart Park After Dark event. The hike will be through flat land & will feature Hart Park history.
Hikers are encouraged to: wear appropriate shoes and bring a flashlight.

Directions to Hart Park After Dark:
– Hart Park After Dark will take place in the Section 7 Picnic Grounds. –
FROM THE WEST ENTRANCE:
1. Continue on Alfred Harrel Highway.
2. Left on Mirror Drive.
3. Slight left onto River Road.
4. Follow the road. The event will be on your right-hand side.
FROM THE EAST ENTRANCE:
1. Veer right onto River Road.
2. Stay right on River Road. The event will be on your left-hand side.
Attendees are encouraged to:
Bring flashlights!
Wear costumes!
Bring lawn chairs!
