Smashing Satellites & Viv and the Revival
SMASHING SATELLITES
During a period in time where technology has taken over the world, ‘Smashing Satellites’ is a movement; a movement to bring people back to humanity. We have never been closer yet so far apart from one another. We have become a slave to the machine and a prisoner to all – as if a set of metal bars stands between each and every one of us. There for all to see, a barrier to divide. If I had a picture of humanity today, it would be that of billions of people standing on the edge of the world while giant satellites cast a shadow over all of us. However, if I could paint a picture of my ideal world, it would be that of billions of people standing on the edge of the world, standing on each other’s shoulders, tearing down the machines… smashing satellites.
VIV AND THE REVIVAL
Some artists spend forever waiting for their songs to be heard by millions. Most artists write dozens of songs before hitting the right notes and getting that one little break. Well, Viv and the Revival is not just some artist. Though Viv started playing guitar at age 8, playing in bands at 16, and moving to Los Angeles to work as a session guitar player at 19, he didn’t even write his first song or sing until age 22. In just four years since first putting pen to paper and his unique vocal tone to a microphone, the 26-year-old artist had more success as a writer than most will see in their lifetimes.
Viv and the Revival songs have been placed worldwide in numerous television shows, national commercials, and movies. In fact, every single song from his self-released 2011 EP “And Then the World Part 1” has been heard by millions in TV placements. His song “Fire” was used in a Bud Lite commercial during the Summer Olympics in 2012. NBC’s “The Voice” used 6 of his songs countless times on that show’s second season, and several other tracks on season three and in the British and Australian versions of the show. Other songs have been placed on NBC, MTV, ESPN, TeenNick, and in films.
