Stampede Days Rodeo
Join us for the rip-roarin’ 30th annual PRCA Stampede Days Rodeo May 1st & 2nd, 2015 at the Kern County Fairgrounds in Bakersfield, California! We offer the largest purses of any other comparably sized rodeo in the state. Due to the outstanding high level of contestants competing in our rodeo, it is often referred to as “The Biggest Little Rodeo in California”. Gates open at 6pm and performances start at 7:30pm. Come on out and enjoy the fun!
Formerly called the Buck Owens’ Rodeo Days, the Kern County Sheriff’s Reserve Association assumed management in 1985 and renamed the event Stampede Days Rodeo. Much of the rodeo’s success has been attributed to the late Brian Asher (Reserve Deputy), who chaired the Stampede Days Rodeo for ten years, up until his death in 2001, a mere three weeks after his last rodeo.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Reserves have provided over 50 years of law enforcement service to the County of Kern, California. The Kern County Sheriff’s Reserve Association is a non-profit organization whose members donate over 20,000 hours each year to their communities.
The purpose of our rodeo is to raise funds for training and equipment for the Reserve Deputies.
